My House is too Small was a residency project curated by Julia Powles where an artist lived in her apartment with her family of two children and a dog. I slept on the couch and created work over a period of 7 days in the domestic environment. The work was exhibited during the open house at the weekend. My work during this time was really a focus on the natural elements that surround us even in an inner city environment. I marked moments of attention to energetic forces and elemental materials. I made linkages to domestic objects and their origins in the natural environment. I really enjoyed the opportunity to reconsider art as life as art and I also really enjoyed Julia’s delicious chocolate cake, and Dave, the best whippet ever.
